The End of Private Property

June 27, 2005

Last Thursday the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the concept of private property is unconstitutional. Sound far-fetched? By upholding the right of local governments to bulldoze your un-blighted home and transfer “your” property to the hands of another private citizen, the court has effectively eliminated the entire concept of private property in this country and [...]

Intelligent Design?

June 23, 2005

While checking out the real Six Million Dollar Man, who has two bionic arms that respond to his thoughts, Reneé made a damn good point: Moving a primitive bionic arm with the simplest gross motor skills is an example of technology intelligently designed, but wave your own arm and that’s supposedly not intelligent design.

I Love San Antonio

June 5, 2005

How does living in San Antonio compare to living in Baghdad?
One is a concrete wasteland in the midst of a natural wasteland, where rival ethnic factions live in a tense peace shattered by the occasional roadside vehicular mass slaughter of innocents. The perpetrators of these crimes are by all accounts uneducated, incompetent, and stupid. They [...]

Spamusement!

June 3, 2005

Now this is hilarious: Spamusement! Poorly-drawn cartoons inspired by actual spam subject lines!
Seriously, some of these are pretty damn clever.
And yes, I did get the Carmen Sandiego one. Geek rating 3.1415926535. Guilty as charged.
