How does living in San Antonio compare to living in Baghdad?

One is a concrete wasteland in the midst of a natural wasteland, where rival ethnic factions live in a tense peace shattered by the occasional roadside vehicular mass slaughter of innocents. The perpetrators of these crimes are by all accounts uneducated, incompetent, and stupid. They do not care for the innocents around them, regarding them as only so much trash to be swept off the streets, thinking only of themselves. They bear children for the most selfish of reasons, sacrificing them for supposed glory. They bewail the occupation of their land by the United States. Their leaders have proven themselves time and again to be corrupt, without morals or scruples, and lacking even the most basic common sense and fiscal discipline. Despite this stupidity and incompetence, or perhaps because of it, they are elevated as heroes by the local population and media. They leave death and destruction in their wake, obliterating the lives of the innocent in their selfish rage.
