Human race will ’split into two different species’

This story is so unbelievably incorrect that I must write this down, because I don’t know if they will even publish the comment I posted. Here’s the comment:

Wow. This story is unbelievably ridiculous, and the facts aren’t even right. Obviously the “reporter” has never read The Time Machine, or at least does not comprehend the story at all. Even the photos are wrong: the supposed picture of the Eloi at the top is in fact the head Morlock in the 2002 movie.

The Eloi were not the “intelligent, enlightened race” but were in fact the cattle for the Morlocks, both as sexual chattel for reproduction and as literal cattle for food. The Eloi were actually remarkably stupid. The point was that humanity had “evolved” to the point that the Eloi were “perfect” in appearance, but were completely unable to care for themselves in any way, becoming the cattle for the underground Morlocks.

I was raised a redneck in south Alabama and better understand literature than the reporters and editors of the Daily Mail, who seem to be an early evolutionary precursor of the Eloi. I weep for our future.
