Wow. According to 30-year veteran meteorologist Anthony Watts, many of our temperature monitoring stations — the same ones gathering the data that shows a dramatic increase in temperature — are in places that reflect or generate heat (beside buildings, construction zones, etc) and increase the temps being recorded. He even compares the temperature readings from two nearby stations and shows a sharp divergence in temps that began approximately when a parking lot nearby one of the stations began construction:
